Lake Wales doctor arrested after hidden camera found in changing room

The camera was reportedly found after he directed a juvenile to a specific room to change before treatment.

LAKE WALES, Fla. — A Lake Wales doctor is facing multiple charges after he was reportedly caught secretly filming a juvenile while they changed in a private room.

According to police, 38-year-old Dr. Pola Gayed, a physical therapy physician at Ava Rehab Clinic located on East S.R. 60, was arrested Monday on video voyeurism and evidence tampering charges.

Officers said they started investigating Gayed after they received word he asked a juvenile to get undressed and put on a gown before being treated. Gayed reportedly directed the juvenile to a specific changing room, one that was different from the one they used in previous visits. After getting undressed, the juvenile reportedly noticed a partially hidden Ring Camera. The blue record light was on.

After the visit, the juvenile reportedly told their parents and the police were contacted.

During the investigation, Lake Wales police said they got a warrant for Gayed's arrest and a search warrant for the clinic. When searching, police said officers found a Ring Camera hidden in the patient changing room.

Police added its investigation is still active and more charges are anticipated. Officers are also asking anyone who may have information about this case to contact Lake Wales Police at 863-678-4223. For those who wish to remain anonymous and receive a cash reward, contact Heartland Crime Stoppers at 1-888-400-TIPS (8477).
