FORT MEADE, Fla. — A precautionary boil water notice was issued for the City of Fort Meade Saturday night.
Officials said the city is working to resolve a pressure issue that was caused by an electrical fault earlier in the day.
Water Resources Director Tommy King said any water coming from the city utility should be boiled. Businesses are asked to serve bottled or canned drinks, used bagged ice and not serve drinks from fountains.
The water is safe for bathing and cleaning.
While the pumps have been restored to normal operations, the city said it may take time for pressure to stabilize.
"The boil water notice is a precaution," King said. "We will advise of when the notice can be lifted when lab results are available."
Any updates will be posted on the city's Facebook page.
