The five-story Bromley building was set to be demolished Sunday, but crews weren’t able to get it down.

They used different tactics like weakening the structure by making cuts in its steel support beams and using four excavators to pull it over with steel cables. Some of those cables snapped early on in the process.

It was expected to be demolished at 10 a.m. and was supposed to take about 30 seconds.

Midtown has recently been bringing more businesses and attracting more attention in the area.

According to project developers, the building was supposed to be taken down Sunday because of safety concerns. Its fate remains uncertain and could depend on the weather.
