US 19 pedestrian overpass open after 2+ years of construction

The project first began on Sept. 5, 2021, with a budget of $8 million.

CLEARWATER, Fla. — The U.S. 19 pedestrian overpass at Harn Boulevard is officially open in Clearwater, according to a post from FDOT on X.

The project first began on Sept. 5, 2021, with a budget of $8 million.

FDOT says the new overpass enhances biking and walking for pedestrians, in addition to improving connectivity along the stretch of U.S. 19.

FDOT says the overpass enhances bicycle & pedestrian safety in the area.

The overpass stretches from south of Harn Boulevard to north of 1st Street.

Other improvements made to the area include milling and resurfacing parts of the roadway. FDOT says they have also installed drainage structures, adding curb and gutters, sidewalks and relocating utilities along US 19 between Harn Boulevard and Tropic Hills Drive.
