TREASURE ISLAND, Fla. — The city of Treasure Island announced the Holiday Lighted Boat Parade is being pushed back by a week because of an "unsettled weather forecast" for the weekend.
The boat parade was originally set for Dec. 16-17 but will now kick off at 6 p.m. on Friday, Dec. 22, a news release explains.
With the rescheduling of the boat parade, the holiday celebration at Treasure Bay Golf & Tennis will also be moved to start at 5 p.m. and run until 7:30 p.m. on Dec. 22.
"At this festive viewing spot where the boat parade starts, there will be a DJ, a visit by Santa and Mrs. Claus, interactive entertainers, and food/beverage concessions," city leaders explain in the release.
But one thing will stay the same – the Captain's Celebration and Cookout will still be from 6-8 p.m. on Thursday, Dec. 14.
People who registered to be part of the event will pick up their boat numbers, two BBQ dinner meal tickets and a raffle ticket. There will be live music, lawn games and much more.
For more information on the event or a map of the parade route, call the Treasure Island Parks and Recreation Department at 727-547-4575, ext. 221.
