CLEARWATER, Fla. — A second suspect is in Clearwater Police custody after an armed robbery at Publix that happened earlier this week.
It happened at 7 p.m. on Wednesday outside the Publix on S Missouri Avenue. Officials said one of the two suspects, a 14 and 16-year-old who were both allegedly on bicycles outside the store, grabbed a gun from a security guard's holster. The teens then rode off with the gun.
The security guard fell to the ground and sustained minor injuries. He was treated at a local hospital, authorities said.
Officials arrested the 16-year-old Wednesday night. They are now both charged with armed robbery.
