Honoring their parents’ legacy in health care, the family of philanthropist Sidd Pagidipati donated $50 million to St. Joseph's Children's Hospital.

TAMPA, Fla. — Honoring their parents’ legacy in health care, the family of a prominent Tampa business leader donated $50 million to St. Joseph’s Children’s Hospital Wednesday.

Philanthropist Sidd Pagidipati and his brother and sister, Rahul and Srujani, donated the money toward St. Joseph’s new pediatric facility while also honoring their parents who both work in healthcare, according to a news release.

The donation is one of Tampa Bay’s largest donations ever. It is also in the top rankings of donations made in the state, the release said.

Set to open by 2030, the facility will be named “Pagidipati Children’s Hospital at St. Joseph’s” in honor of their contribution.

“When you see what happens at St. Joseph’s Children’s Hospital every single day, you cannot help but be moved to contribute to the future of our region’s children,” Sidd Pagidipati said in a statement.

It is also an extension of the family’s dream of making the Tampa Bay area the “best place to raise a family.”
