ST. PETERSBURG, Fla. — A 19-year-old is accused of killing his mom's boyfriend and is now facing a murder charge, according to St. Petersburg police.

The investigation started around 3:45 p.m. at a home on 51st Avenue South near 31st Street South. When police arrived, they reportedly found 54-year-old Otis Moore dead inside the home with blunt-force trauma to his upper body.

No one was at the home at the time of the officers' arrival. Moore's death was immediately described as "suspicious."

As police investigated, they determined two other people lived in the home with Moore, 19-year-old Jha'Quel Maynor and Maynor's mother.

The investigation reportedly revealed that Moore and Maynor had a fight that resulted in Moore's death. Maynor lived with his mother and Moore. Police say Maynor's mother and Moore were in a relationship.

Maynor was arrested and charged with first-degree murder.
