TARPON SPRINGS, Fla. — Some good news for beachgoers — Sunset Beach in Tarpon Springs is opening back up this week. Many of Pinellas County's beaches were closed to the public after back-to-back Hurricanes Helene and Milton.

The city of Tarpon Springs made the announcement on Wednesday, saying, "Thanks to the heavy lifting by City crews, contractors and Duke Energy, Sunset Beach will reopen at sunrise Friday, Nov. 1."

This means visitors will be able to soak up the sun and enjoy the sandy beach around 7:43 a.m. on Friday.

Visitors are being asked to still use caution when going to the beach because some areas are still off limits. Additionally, restroom facilities are still limited.

Tarpon Springs' Sunset Beach is not to be confused with Sunset Beach in Treasure Island. Treasure Island's beach remains closed as of this writing. Beachgoers should not go to Treasure Island's Sunset Beach at this time.
