ST. PETERSBURG, Fla. — A police officer with the St. Petersburg Police Department went to the hospital Sunday afternoon after the officer was hurt in a crash.
At around 3:19 p.m., a driver ran through a stop sign at 13th Avenue North and 37th Street North in St. Pete when they hit the police officer who was in a patrol car, a spokesperson for the police department told 10 Tampa Bay.
The police officer was reportedly hurt in the crash and taken to a hospital to be checked for minor injuries. He was later released.
The driver who hit the officer's patrol car was not hurt in the crash and no charges will be filed against that driver, officials said.
