ST. PETERSBURG, Fla. — One person is dead and two others were hospitalized after a home in St. Pete was engulfed in flames early Sunday morning.
St. Petersburg Fire Rescue crews said they were called around 4:45 a.m. to a home on 63rd Avenue North near NW Lincoln Circle North after reports of a fire. When crews arrived they said the house was fully engulfed in flames.
Two adults were reportedly in the front yard when fire crews arrived and they were "immediately" treated and taken to the hospital. The extent of their injuries isn't known, but first responders said they were in "stable" condition when they were transported.
As the two adults were being treated, crews started battling the fire using large hose lines to put out the flames and keep the blaze from spreading to neighboring homes.
Once the fire was put out, crews were able to enter and search the home. Once inside, they found an adult who had died in the fire.
Authorities have not yet released identifying information about the people victimized by the fire. A fire investigator with St. Petersburg Fire Rescue is currently on the scene collecting data for the investigation.
