ST. PETERSBURG, Fla. — As Hurricane Milton intensifies and moves closer to Florida's Gulf Coast, airports are beginning to announce closures.

Below is a running list of airport closures to be aware of in the Tampa Bay area.

Tampa International Airport (TPA)

Tampa International Airport will suspend all commercial and cargo flights starting at 9 a.m. Tuesday. It will remain closed to the public until it can assess damage after.

Other airports managed by the Hillsborough County Aviation Authority — Peter O. Knight, Tampa Executive and Plant City Airports — will also close.

Parking garages at the airport will also be closed and officials warn travelers that the airport is not a shelter and is in evacuation zone A.

Always remember to contact your airline for the latest flight information as well.

St. Petersburg-Clearwater International Airport (PIE)

The St. Petersburg-Clearwater International Airport will close after the last flight on Tuesday.

The airport will remain closed Wednesday and Thursday. Officials said all Allegiant flights were canceled for Wednesday and Thursday and encouraged travelers to contact airlines directly for information about cancellations and when flights will resume.

Sarasota-Bradenton International Airport (SRQ)

Sarasota Bradenton International Airport is also still open and operational while officials continue to monitor the storm.
