Pinellas Park police members accused of potential misconduct during Hurricane Michael cleanup

Members of the Pinellas Park police are accused of potential misconduct while on assignment in the Panhandle for Hurricane Michael cleanup efforts.

PINELLAS PARK, Fla. -- Several employees of the Pinellas Park Police Department are accused of potential misconduct in the Florida Panhandle during cleanup after Hurricane Michael.

The allegation was received by the administration on Oct. 26, according to a department news release.

Captain Brian Unmisig in the news release did not specify the extent of the accusation or how many people are involved. However, Police Chief Michael Haworth ordered an internal investigation.

It's expected to last several weeks, with all employees remaining on the job working their normal assignments.
