PINELLAS PARK, Fla. — A man was arrested after he admitted to shooting and killing his wife when she squirted water at him, according to police.

Evangelos Mitrakos, 65, reportedly shot Leonora Vata, 56, around 9:20 a.m. on Thursday at a home on 59th Street N near 63rd Terrace in Pinellas Park. Detectives said the two were in a verbal fight and Vata made comments for Mitrakos to kill himself, according to court documents.

"I got something better to do," Mitrakos said to her, according to his arrest report.

He then got a gun from a dresser drawer in the bedroom and shot her multiple times until the gun ran out of bullets. He told police he shot all the bullets, which added up to six rounds.

After, he went outside and told a neighbor that he shot Vata.

He was booked into the Pinellas County Jail on a second-degree murder charge.
