Pinellas County man wins millions in scratch-off game

The 49-year-old was the lucky winner of the $2 million top prize from the ticket.

GULFPORT, Fla. — A Gulfport man just got $2 million richer after he claimed the top prize from a scratch-off ticket.

Jesse Robinson, 49, bought the lucky ticket from the Gulfport Market at 5800 28th Avenue South. He chose to receive his winnings as a one-time, lump-sum payment of $1.28 million.

The retailer also received a $4,000 bonus commission for selling the winning scratch-off. 

Robinson played the 100x THE CASH game, which is a $10 scratch-off game and offers more than $243.4 million in total cash prizes with the top prize being $2 million. The overall odds of winning a prize are 1-in-3.49, but the odds are slimmer as the prize amount increases.

Scratch-off tickets comprise approximately 74% of ticket sales as of 2023-2024. More than $63.1 billion in prizes have been awarded and has generated more than $19.25 billion for Florida's Educational Enhancement Trust Fund.
