CLEARWATER, Fla. — A local nonprofit hosted a benefit to raise funds for a motorcycle crash survivor who is still recovering after a truck hit him in May.
Surveillance video from a nearby business shows 19-year-old Tanner Demarzo flipping through the air after the impact. That day changed his future.
Instead of joining the Coast Guard, he will study to become a physical therapist. Demarzo said he's facing a long road to recovery, but he's not in it alone.
“It makes me feel a lot better to see that all these people who are complete strangers who have never met me, never heard of me before were just willing to come down and spend their day to help me out. It definitely restores some faith in humanity,” Demarzo said.
“Wings 4 Recovery” hosted the event. If you missed today's event, you can click here to learn more about donating to help out with Demarzo’s expenses.
