Man with suspended license arrested for DUI with his dog in the car, troopers say

The man was allegedly speeding with his headlights off and driving on the wrong side of the road when troopers pulled him over.

ST. PETE BEACH, Fla — A New York man was arrested after he was driving drunk on the wrong side of the road with his dog.

Brandon Bowman, 34, was going 50 mph in a 25 mph zone without his headlights on when he was pulled over by Florida Highway Patrol at about 9:56 p.m. Friday near the area of Blind Pass Road and Harrell Avenue, according to his arrest report. 

Bowman, who is from Syracuse, showed signs of impairment and he was arrested for DUI, marking his fifth arrest for DUI, according to troopers. 

There was also a warrant out for his arrest for driving while his license was suspended and for possession of marijuana, according to Pinellas County court records. Troopers took the dog, which was shown sitting in the front seat of a patrol car.
