PALM HARBOR, Fla. — Finding parking at Trader Joe's might become easier in the near future once the California-based grocery store opens a new location in Palm Harbor.
It would be the second Trader Joe's in Pinellas County and the third in the immediate Tampa Bay area. The locations in South Tampa and St. Petersburg have come to serve the entire area, and that's reflected in how busy the stores typically are.
For those who live near the north part of Pinellas County, going to Trader Joe's may no longer have to be made into 'a whole thing' involving a half-hour drive, small parking lots and a long line.
The company's website lists the Palm Harbor location as 'Coming Soon!'. It will be located at 33591 U.S. Highway 19 North, in a shopping plaza where the highway intersects Nebraska Avenue.
A look from Google Street View reveals the site used to be a Stein Mart that has since closed.
Trader Joe's didn't mention when the store is expected to open. The website does confirm that the store will sell beer and wine.
In a statement to 10 Tampa Bay, the company said they "feel the community and location are a great fit."
Locations in Sarasota and Lakewood Ranch also recently expanded the grocery store's reach across Tampa Bay.
