Moxy St. Pete hotel now open: Here's a look inside

The hotel is in the EDGE District and features the district's first rooftop bar.

ST. PETERSBURG, Fla. — A new hotel boasting a vibrant, buzzing atmosphere is now open in St. Petersburg's EDGE District on Central Avenue.

Moxy St. Pete will mirror the vibe of the eccentric neighborhood where it will be located. The 163-room hotel will be at 1234 Central Avenue, across the street from Tropicana Field.

The lobby will have a bar, coffee shop, podcast studio open to the public for free, and 1,000 square feet of meeting space. 

"Situated in the eclectic EDGE District on Central Avenue, known for its artistic and funky vibes, Moxy St. Pete harmoniously aligns with the personality of the area, buzzing with art, music, and activity all with an authentic local touch," according to a press release from the hotel.

The hotel will also feature the district's first rooftop pool deck, poolside bar and Sparrow, a rooftop bar with Asian-fusion cuisine, cocktails and panoramic views of the city.

The bright and playful decor in the lobby is inspired by the unique charm of downtown St. Petersburg and will have a modern design with laid-back beach decor, according to the news release.

 "This is a one-of-a-kind lifestyle hotel that not only works within St. Pete's local traditions and culture but also adds to the neighborhood," said Nick Pantuliano, COO, PTM Partners.

At the lobby, bar guests could enjoy an assortment of beverages and a bite to eat. Some of the food options will be salads, flatbreads and fresh sushi rolls. The coffee shop will have a variety of espresso-based beverages as well as pastries, toasts and smoothies.

The hotel will have a rooftop bar with Asian-fusion inspired food.

Guests who want to get a workout in could go to the 24-hour fitness center equipped with a punching bag, gymnastic equipment, Peloton bike and a full-circuit gym. The building will also house [solidcore] and Floyd's Barbershop. 

Overall, the hotel's design celebrates the city's history in a modern way.

"Our goal was to create a design that harmonizes with the community, captivating both residents and visitors. Collaborating closely with PTM, we ensured our design seamlessly integrates with the surrounding neighborhood," said Everald Colas, founding principal of Storyn Studio for Architecture.
