MADEIRA BEACH, Fla. — Madeira Beach city leaders announced some important updates for visitors regarding parking for later this year and next year.

On Oct. 1, 2024, the hourly parking rate will increase from $3 to $4 an hour, according to the city's official website. The increase is reportedly meant to improve Madeira Beach's parking services and maintain facilities "for everyone's convenience."

This new change will apply to every parking kiosk in city-owned lots and in-app purchases through the ParkMobile App. In addition, city leaders say all parking sessions must start when drivers arrive at their spot, not after.

Speaking of kiosks, by Jan. 2 2025, all of them will be removed in Madiera Beach, city leaders said. By that time, the ParkMobile app will reportedly be the city's exclusive method for paying for parking.

What about overnight parking?

Madeira Beach city leaders said overnight parking must be bought through the meter or the ParkMobile App.

"Only a limited number of spots will be available for overnight parking per lot and will be on a first-come, first-serve basis," leaders stated on the official website.

Overnight parking is accepted at the following locations in Madeira Beach, according to city officials:

  • 130th Avenue, located west of Gulf Boulevard at 130th Avenue.
  • City parking lots — Located on the west side of Gulf Boulevard at 131st, 132nd, 133rd, 134th, 135th, and 136th Avenues, and on the east side of Gulf Boulevard at 133rd Avenue.

Overnight parking is not accepted at these following locations in the city:

  • John’s Pass Park Parking lot, 129th Avenue
  • Archibald Memorial Beach Park, 15100 Gulf Boulevard.
  • John’s Pass Village parking lot  on-street parking at Village Boulevard
