LARGO, Fla. — The Largo Police Department announced the passing of one of its beloved retired K-9s.
Murphy worked with his handler Officer Pat Newbill for nine years and racked up more than 100 arrests and detained more than 650 suspects. The police department announced his death in a Facebook post on Sunday.
Newbill and Murphy also represented the department when they competed on America's Top Dog in 2020.
"Our thoughts are with Officer Newbill, his family, and all those who knew and loved K-9 Murphy," police said in the post.
