LARGO, Fla. — A person is seriously hurt after police say they were on a moped that crashed head-on with a van Saturday evening in Largo.
At around 6 p.m., authorities arrived at the area of Indian Rocks Road and Cove Drive after receiving a report of a person seriously hurt in a crash, the Largo Police Department said in a news release.
The person was heading southbound on Indian Rocks Road when they swerved into oncoming traffic and then crashed into a 2003 Ford Econovan, police say.
The driver of the moped reportedly showed signs of impairment and was taken to a nearby hospital after the crash.
Authorities say the driver of the van did not show any signs of impairment nor did he suffer any injuries.
All vehicles involved in the incident stayed at the scene to talk to police.
The investigation of the crash remains ongoing.
