DUNEDIN, Fla. — At least one person is dead after authorities received calls for help Wednesday morning off of Honeymoon Island in Dunedin.
According to Dunedin Fire Rescue, around 11:42 a.m. crews got a call for assistance off of Honeymoon Island.
Crews confirmed to 10 Tampa Bay one person died, but did not provide any details.
The Pinellas County Sheriff's Office said deputies responded to a water rescue call near the Dunedin Causeway, also confirming one person was found dead. The agency said it would provide more details when they become available.
Sky 10 flew over the area, where you can see several law enforcement boats surrounding a small island.
