PINELLAS PARK, Fla. — Police are searching for a driver who didn't stop after running over a man who fell into the road.
The investigation began just after 1 a.m. Friday when Pinellas Park police officers were called to the area of 68th Avenue N near 65th Street N after a man was found lying in the road.
When they arrived, officers say they found the man and he was rushed to the hospital where he is said to be in "stable but serious condition."
Investigators say they learned that around 12:53 a.m., the man was walking north across 68th Avenue N when he fell onto the road. Around that same time, an unknown SUV driver made a wide right turn and ran over the man.
After running him over, the driver left the area and didn't wait for police to arrive. The driver's SUV is described as being either white or silver in color.

Police provided a surveillance photo of the SUV, although it is hard to make out much detail.
