ST. PETERSBURG, Fla. — St. Petersburg police say they arrested a man who injured an officer when he hit a parked cruiser.
According to a press release, this happened at about 7:15 p.m. on Monday. The police car's emergency lights were activated as it was parked to control traffic at 18th Avenue South and Dr. Martin Luther King Jr. Street South.
Police say the officer who was hit was treated at the hospital with minor injuries.
Officers determined the driver was impaired, so they took him into custody and charged him with DUI property damage, fentanyl possession, and driving with a suspended license.
