CLEARWATER, Fla. — A woman was arrested after she crashed into the back of a road work vehicle that was stopped on the Courtney Campbell Causeway.
Andra Newkirk, 36, was allegedly drunk when she hit the vehicle that had its emergency lights activated and was pulled over at 2:43 a.m., according to Clearwater Police.
A Department of Transportation subcontractor was taken to the hospital with minor injuries and the driver was also taken to the hospital.
The westbound lanes of the Courtney Campbell Causeway were shut down as police investigated but have since reopened.
Newkirk was charged with DUI with property damage and will be booked into the Pinellas County Jail after she is cleared at the hospital.
