TREASURE ISLAND, Fla. — A 61-year-old man was arrested and charged with the death of his father after allegedly running over him multiple times and driving away, Pinellas County Sheriff's Office said.
Mark McKeown struck and dragged 86-year-old Thomas McKeown Saturday evening in the parking lot of R Bar, deputies explained in a statement. During a preliminary investigation, detectives learned that while walking in front of a black truck driven by Mark, Thomas had fallen to the ground.
The sheriff's office said the truck then started to move and ran over Thomas, dragging him in the parking lot. Mark is believed to have then reversed and moved forward multiple times, running over him each time before leaving the parking lot.

Thomas was taken to a local hospital, where he was pronounced dead.
Mark was taken into custody and charged with leaving the scene of a crash involving death. Deputies believe impairment to be a factor in the crash.
An investigation into this crash is still ongoing.
