PINELLAS COUNTY, Fla. — A Tampa man died after crashing into another car, hitting a concrete barrier and tumbling before the vehicle burst into flames on Gandy Bridge.
The Florida Highway Patrol said the 33-year-old motorcyclist driving at around 10:45 p.m. Saturday behind a Jeep Grand Cherokee when the motorcyclist hit the back of the Jeep. He traveled off the roadway, hit the barrier and was redirected back into the roadway.
The man and his motorcycle "tumbled for several hundred feet" and caught on fire. He suffered fatal injuries, and the Jeep driver was not hurt, troopers said.
