The Florida Fish and Wildlife Commission says Sunday morning it responded to a call about a dead, beached dolphin.
FWC says a biologist responded to the area where the dolphin was reported and picked it up to be examined.
As of Monday morning, FWC says it was not able to give the dolphin's cause of death. They say they will try to perform a necropsy later today or tomorrow to figure out why the animal died but it may be too decomposed to work with.
Biologists say the dolphin's body was badly decomposed and it could have died from many things.
