DUNEDIN, Fla. — About 200 people will lose their jobs following the planned closure of the Coca-Cola plant in Dunedin, the company said in a letter to state officials.
The plant, located at 427 San Christopher Dr., is expected to close on May 31, 2024, with layoffs starting on April 5.
"All positions and jobs at the facility will be eliminated during this time period," the company wrote in its letter to Florida as part of the Worker Adjustment and Retraining Notification, or WARN, Act.
"More than sixty days notification was given to our workers on February 5, 2024," the company continued.
Wall Street analysis saw Coca-Cola on Tuesday surpass their expectations for fourth-quarter revenue, according to Reuters. The outlet reports that consumers have been willing to spend money on the company's products despite recent price hikes.
Still, the company expects growth to slow as benefits from those higher prices wear off, Reuters said.
