ST. PETERSBURG, Fla. — A Coast Guard crew rescued a man whose boat was taking on water just off the St. Pete Pier.

It happened earlier Sunday, the service branch posted on X.

It says the man's 45-foot boat began taking on water. Crewmembers transported the man to medical staff standing by at the pier.

He reportedly was experiencing nausea.

The boat was dewatered and towed to the North Yacht Basin.

The Tampa Bay area experienced a line of heavy showers and storms earlier in the day, though the weather conditions at the time of the incident weren't detailed in the report. Bay and inland water conditions throughout the day were forecast to be at a moderate chop.
