CLEARWATER, Fla. — Clearwater Police arrested a woman after she pulled a gun on a security guard and tried to shoot him on Friday night.
Kelley Karabinos, 36, was at a smoke shop on Gulf-to-Bay Boulevard just before midnight when she was involved in a verbal altercation inside the store and was escorted out by a security guard.
After, she went to her car, grabbed a gun and aimed it at the security guard. She tried to fire it several times, but it malfunctioned, police said.
Karabinos then got into her car, continuing to point the gun at the guard and tried to fire the weapon again. She left the scene but drove back shortly after police arrived at the scene. Karabinos told officers she was the suspect and they said she initially fled a traffic stop before being pulled over.
She faces multiple charges including aggravated assault, possession of a firearm during a felony, driving under the influence and fleeing and eluding. After she was brought to the Pinellas County Jail, Karabinos also got an additional charge of bringing contraband into jail when three bullets were found hidden in her bra, according to police.
