CLEARWATER, Fla. — Investigators say they've identified the person found dead at a Clearwater park as a 16-year-old girl.
Deputies were called around 7:30 a.m. Friday to the Duke Energy easement behind Countryside Community Park near Countryside Boulevard on a report of a body found, according to the Pinellas County Sheriff's Office.
Construction workers found the girl as they arrived for work, the agency said. She since has been identified as a 16-year-old, with no other identifiable information provided to the public.
Her death appears to be drug-related and not criminal in nature, deputies said.
An investigation is ongoing.
