CLEARWATER, Fla. — A death investigation is underway after a man's body was found floating in the water Monday afternoon, according to the Clearwater Police Department.
Officers were responding to a request for a welfare check when they reportedly found the body in Mandalay Channel off East Shore Drive near the Clearwater Memorial Causeway.
On Tuesday morning, police identified him as 69-year-old Harry Arnold.
Police say foul play is not suspected although the investigation is ongoing.
Investigators say they won't identify the man until his family members have been notified.
