ST. PETERSBURG, Fla. — An investigation is underway into a shooting that left a 15-year-old boy injured Sunday evening, according to St. Petersburg police.
Gunfire was reported in the residential area of Paris Avenue and 6th Street South just before 6 p.m., but police say investigators are still working to determine exactly where the shooting happened.
The teen's friends tried to drive him to a hospital but crashed a few minutes later at 5th Avenue South and 7th Street South, police said. The other people in the car then ran off.
Once on scene, paramedics took the victim to a hospital. He sustained non-life-threatening injuries.
Police say they are still investigating what led up to the shooting.
