15-year-old boy shot, killed in St. Pete; death investigation underway

St. Petersburg police are investigating a shooting that left a 15-year-old boy dead on Wednesday, Dec. 18, 2024.

ST. PETERSBURG, Fla. — St. Petersburg police are investigating what led to the death of a 15-year-old boy on Wednesday evening.

Officers received a call just before 6 p.m. about a person shot in the area of 11850 Dr. Martin Luther King Jr. Street N. the address of the TGM Bay Isle apartment complex.

They arrived to find the teen with a gunshot wound. He was transported to Orlando Health Bayfront Hospital where he was pronounced dead.

Detectives are working to canvass the area to find any potential witnesses or information on the shooting. 

"Our detectives are pouring all of their time and effort into this case right now," St. Petersburg Police spokesperson Ashley M. Limardo said.
