PINELLAS PARK, Fla. — Investigators with the Pinellas Park Police Department have identified the man killed Tuesday night in a pedestrian crash.
Jeffrey Ross, 66, of Largo was crossing Park Boulevard outside of a crosswalk around 9 p.m. when he was struck and killed by a sedan driving westbound, according to Pinellas Park Police.
Ross reportedly died on impact.
Westbound Park Boulevard was closed at 76th Street for several hours after the fatal crash.
The driver remained on scene and cooperated with the investigation.
Investigators say there are no signs that speed or alcohol played a factor in this incident and that charges are not currently pending.
Police said the roads were closed for a few hours and asked drivers to avoid the area at the time. The road has since reopened to traffic.
The Pinellas Park Police Department is reminding the community to use crosswalks and specified pedestrian crossing locations when walking near roadways.
