ZEPHYRHILLS, Fla. — A man sits in jail Wednesday night after an altercation in a Zephyrhills McDonald’s drive-thru escalated quickly, according to a press release.
Wesley Lee Bullock, 48, is charged with armed burglary with battery and aggravated assault with a firearm after he allegedly jumped in a man’s car and shot him following an altercation.
Zephyrhills police responded to a disturbance call at a McDonald's Tuesday morning in the area at Gall Boulevard and Fort King Road. They arrived to find a man with a non-life-threatening gunshot wound, the release said.
Officers said Bullock got into a confrontation with McDonald’s staff in the drive-thru lane where a nearby patron tried to break it up. McDonald’s staff then had to break up the fight that started between Bullock and the man.
Both men went back in their cars and drove from the restaurant parking lot. However, Bullock followed the man, jumped in his car and started fighting him again. Bullock then pulled out a gun and fired a shot after a brief struggle. The shot ended up hitting the man, although it is unknown where he was shot.
Zephyrhills Police detectives, in coordination with Pasco County deputies, arrested Bullock Wednesday afternoon.
