DADE CITY, Fla. — Troopers are looking for a 40-year-old man accused of running away from a deadly crash he caused Saturday morning in Dade City.

At 8:40 a.m., the man was driving a Ford pickup truck towing a utility trailer heading eastbound on Clinton Avenue, the Florida Highway Patrol said in a news release.

A 30-year-old Lakeland woman was reportedly in the passenger seat of the pickup truck.

The man lost control of the pickup truck when he drove onto the south shoulder of the road and hit a utility pole before crashing with a fence, causing the car to roll over, authorities say.

After the crash, the man – who is believed to also be from Lakeland – ran away from the incident, while the woman was taken to a nearby hospital where she was pronounced dead.

Troopers say the pickup truck that the man was driving was stolen from Zephyrhills.

Anyone with information regarding the deadly crash is asked to call FHP at *347 or Crime Stoppers at **TIPS.
