Firefighters rescue two dogs from house fire in Pasco County

Video from a viewer shows crew treating one of the dogs. No injuries were reported from the fire at a home in New Port Richey.

NEW PORT RICHEY, Fla. — Two dogs were rescued from a house on fire in New Port Richey Thursday night, according to county officials.

A witness to the fire, Ryan Watern, captured video of the fire rescue response to the home on Chapman Drive off Florida State Road 54.

The footage shows smoke coming from the home. Several panels on the part of the roof that hangs off the house, called the soffit, were hanging out of place.

Pasco County officials said crews responded to the fire at 11:52 p.m. on Thursday.

No one was hurt.

It's not clear what part of the house the fire started in. Officials said an investigation was opened into what caused the fire.
