PASCO COUNTY, Fla. — All southbound lanes of Interstate 75 in Pasco County were closed for hours Thursday evening after a crash involving a semi-truck.
In an update Friday, Florida Highway Patrol said a bit before 5:52 p.m. a semi-truck driver was going south in the outside lane on I-75 mile marker 293 in Dade City when another semi-truck merged into his lane.
The driver, a 49-year-old Jacksonville man, steered to the outside shoulder and collided with a light pole, FHP described.
FHP said the man tried to overcorrect back onto the roadway and overturned. The incident caused the southbound lanes to be blocked until around 8:53 p.m.
The driver reportedly did not receive any injuries during the incident.
