PASCO COUNTY, Fla. — A Pasco County deputy is in "critical condition" after being rescued from a car that overturned and ended up submerging in water, officials say.
It happened on Friday in the area of Dixie Avenue as the deputy and a member of the Dade City Police Department were scouting floodwaters, according to an X post from the sheriff's office.
The police department official was able to safely get out of the car, though authorities said the Pasco County deputy was trapped.

Thankfully, with the help of a local citizen and the Dade City law enforcement official, the deputy was rescued and taken to the hospital.
