PASCO COUNTY, Fla. — A 25-year-old man from Deltona died after he was thrown from his Jeep after being rear-ended by another driver, the Florida Highway Patrol said.

The crash happened around 9:30 p.m. Thursday on eastbound State Road 54, east of Starkey Boulevard. According to FHP, a 30-year-old Tampa woman driving a Toyota RAV4 was going eastbound on SR-54 when she "overtook and collided" with the rear of a Jeep Wrangler driven by the 25-year-old.

The impact caused the man, who troopers say wasn't wearing a seatbelt, to be ejected. He was rushed to the hospital where he died from his injuries.

The woman, identified as Solanch Coca, was impaired at the time of the crash, according to FHP. She was arrested for DUI manslaughter and taken to the Pasco County Jail, troopers said.
