PASCO COUNTY, Fla. — A 24-year-old Zephyrhills man died in a crash early Thursday morning in Pasco County, according to the Florida Highway Patrol.
It happened just after 3 a.m. on the 3700 block of Coats Road in Zephyrhills.
FHP says the man was driving a Chevy Tahoe when he crashed into "large tree debris" in the road. The collision caused the SUV to rotate and then hit two mailboxes before it overturned.
The driver was thrown from the SUV during the crash and died at the scene, a press release says. A 20-year-old passenger from Dade City was not hurt.
