PASCO COUNTY, Fla. — The Pasco Board of County Commissioners is mourning the death of Vice Chair Gary Bradford on Monday after his battle with leukemia.
The commission said he passed away Sunday with his wife, family and friends by his side.
Bradford, an Ohio native who moved to Florida 40 years ago, lived in the county for 21 years after serving as a detective with the Tampa Police Department for 25 years. The commission said it saw him as a “strong supporter of public safety” after his service with multiple community organizations.
“He always had unwavering support for our law enforcement, firefighters, employees and citizens of Pasco County," Board Chair Ron Oakley said in a statement. “His passing is a great loss.”
He was a recent graduate of the non-profit organization Leadership Pasco, being a part of their class of 2022.
