WESLEY CHAPEL, Fla. — A man was barricaded inside a Wesley Chapel home Friday night after he shot a woman inside, the Pasco County Sheriff's Office reports.
The shooting happened around 7:30 p.m. at a home on Marquette Avenue near Merilee Place.
Investigators say they believe a man shot a woman inside the house after getting into an altercation. When deputies arrived, they were able to remove her from the house but it took several hours to get the man out.
He was ultimately detained after deputies entered and was hospitalized for self-inflicted gunshot wounds, according to the sheriff's office.
The woman is currently stable but in critical condition.
