LAND O' LAKES, Fla. — The Pasco County Sheriff's Office is investigating reports of a "suspicious substance" found in the mail Tuesday morning at Land O' Lakes High School.
In a post on Facebook, the agency explains the "suspicious substance" was isolated in an area of the school where there are no students.
An email sent to parents from Pasco County Schools explains several envelopes filled with white substance were sent to the school. It was reportedly determined to be "non-hazardous in nature."
"Out of an abundance of caution, Land O' Lakes High School is closing for the day," deputies wrote in the post.
Students who drove to school were allowed to leave while parents were also told to pick their children up. Buses also returned to the high school.
No students were in danger, and no one was hurt.
There's no other information about when the school will reopen, as of now. An investigation is ongoing at this time.
