PASCO COUNTY, Fla. — A woman died after getting hit by a car while walking on U.S. Highway 19 in Pasco County, officials confirmed.
It happened just before 2 a.m. on Saturday, according to Florida Highway Patrol. That's when a 70-year-old Inglis man was reportedly approaching Scenic Drive while traveling northbound on US 19.
State troopers said a 55-year-old Port Richey woman was walking eastbound across the northbound lanes, right in the path of the driver.
The woman was taken to the hospital for serious injuries where she later died, officials said.
FHP said the driver was not injured during the incident. No further details were provided.
