Florida Highway Patrol investigating deadly crash on State Road 54 in Pasco County

The crash left a 49-year-old motorcyclist from Sneads dead, FHP said in a news release.

PASCO COUNTY, Fla. — A crash between a car and motorcycle left a 49-year-old man dead on State Road 54, Florida Highway Patrol (FHP) said in a news release.

FHP said the accident occurred around 3:33 p.m. on Friday when a 53-year-old Wesley Chapel man was traveling westbound on State Road 54 while the 49-year-old motorcyclist, from Sneads, was traveling eastbound.

The man from Wesley Chapel reportedly made a U-turn into the path of the Sneads man at the intersection of Vandline Road before they collided, FHP said.

The motorcyclist was taken to the hospital, where he later died from his injuries, according to FHP.  The condition of the man from Wesley Chapel is unknown at this time. It is also unknown if he will be facing any charges.
