HUDSON, Fla. — The driver of Pasco County Fire Rescue ambulance did not see a bicyclist in the road before hitting them, according to the Florida Highway Patrol.
The crash happened just after 10 p.m. Friday in the area of Fivay Road and Lakeside Woodlands Drive.
Both the ambulance and biker were heading north on Fivay Road, a news release states. The driver claims he did not see a 48-year-old Hudson woman on the bike as she was wearing dark clothing and no lights.
She as hit by the front right side mirror, which threw her into the road.
Troopers say she suffered serious injuries and was taken to an area hospital.
